House
acrylic and ink on pane
9 x 12 inches
$200 available
for purchase at shop scad
abels is a recent graduate of the ma program at scad who's work i've been following for a while now. he's currently working in denver, co and his work has been seen in a smattering of solo and group shows. the above work is not my favorite, but i've chosen to feature it because it clocks in under our $300 cap. below, we have the crisp, warm, and technically sound kind of work that comes to mind when i think of abels:
boxes (acrylic and mylar on panel, 20 x 16 inches, $600)
there, there (acrylic and mylar on panel, 24 x 36 inches, $1,200)
both available at shop scad

his work is architectural in nature, often adopting an arial veiwpoint. more images are available on his website. to anyone who worries his work is a big stagnated after browsing the site, take a peek at his most recent show "a portrait of the artist as a young pigeon". it's a dramatic departure, but thematically relevant to his work and illustrative of my suspicion that he has an exciting career ahead.
